Newsletter – Friday 16th October 2020

We are finally on the countdown for the half term break. We have had a great start to the year and are very proud of our children and the positive attitudes they have shown but, I think we will all agree that we are ready for a break to recharge our batteries ready for whatever next term brings.

Half term

School will close for half term on Friday 23rd October and reopen on Tuesday 3rd November. There has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of having a two week half term and we have had many parents asking questions. We are not currently aware that this is something that is being planned but we would like to reassure parents that when we find out any further information we will inform you as soon as possible.

Online gaming

Over the past few weeks we have had several complaints and worries about online bullying and inappropriate language whilst children are online. Although this is happening at home and it is very difficult for school to monitor we would like to remind parents of the dangers of online gaming and videos. If any of these issues are brought back into school we will deal with them as we see appropriate and would ask parents that they monitor closely what children are accessing at home.

Halloween Day – Friday 23rd October

As mentioned in previous newsletters all children will be taking part in fun Halloween activities in their classroom next Friday. Children are welcome to come to school dressed up for the day. We will also be selling raffle tickets to win a hamper that was kindly donated by a member of our Lunchtime team.

On this day children can bring £1 to school if they would like to buy a strip of tickets and the raffle will be drawn in the afternoon. The winner of the hamper will be informed by telephone as there is a selection of items for both children and adults, including alcohol, so it cannot be taken home by the child.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Roxanne Watson for running a fantastic Christmas Box raffle to raise money for school. We are incredibly grateful for your support.

Also, if you are doing any shopping online and would like to support school please use this link and school will receive money every time you shop.

We would like to remind you that if your child, or a member of your household, shows any of the symptoms of Covid-19 (a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss of/change in your normal sense of taste or smell) the government guidance states that you must all isolate until a test has been taken and a negative result received. If a positive result is received please inform school immediately.

For further information please take a look at the latest government guidance

Once again we would like to thank you for your continued support.
